11/21-12/09 Las Vegas

So...I've been a bad blogger for the past few weeks.  I can't say it's all been because of crazy Las Vegas life more so than it's been I'm just really lazy.  As James says, "Vegas (and hostel life) does that do you."  Unfortunately, I've been bad at updating my small journal as well so I don't really know all the details from the past few weeks.  With that being said, I'll just go off the pictures I've taken and update with that.  Which is probably all anyone really cares about anyway.  :)

I'll start off with Thanksgiving.  It was my first real major holiday not spent with family.  I was working, but it's really slow this time of the year, so I was still able to "enjoy" myself.  I won't lie, and my closest friends already know, I got really down during my shift before we started cooking.  I started thinking about things I shouldn't focus on because all that matters is RIGHT NOW, not the past because it's already happened or the future because it may never come.  Anyway, for roughly $80 we had a damn good spread!

My first time making deviled eggs!  (They were good too, bragging rights.)
James made everything else.
Canadian James is happy.
Carving up the turkey...that was only $10!
My plate...
After dinner and my shift we went to the night club Tryst at the Wynn.  It was nice and I wanted to have a fabulous time, but I was feeling terrible.

Saturday after Thanksgiving, Asaf and I went to see Jim Gaffigan.  So funny!  I enjoyed myself more seeing him than I did Louis CK.  I think it was mostly because I wasn't sick, but I think it was also because he didn't have to be lewd to be funny.

The next two pictures don't really have anything to do with anything....I think I had wasted a day and slept...but when I finally emerged from my room this is what I saw.  This place may not have the best of scenery, but sometimes it's absolutely amazing.

Another afternoon, Frank and I decided to walk Fremont and take pictures during sunset.  I thought 4 would be a good time.  WRONG.  It's damn near dark by 4:30!  Oh, and I am now the proud owner of the iPhone 4s.  This was the first time I took the camera for a spin.  Takes great pictures!

Taken by the 4s!
A day or two (or however long) later, Frank and I went down to the Strip to take some pictures....it felt like we walked for miles since we were there for over 3 hours walking around nonstop, but in all actuality we probably walked MAYBE one mile.  We were absolutely pooped!

If you don't know why I shrieked when I saw this book...then you don't know me very well.

In a few of the casinos, there are kiosks where you can take a picture and post it to Twitter/FB/or check in on Foursquare....there's no cool background or anything.  It was beyond me. But we did it anyway.
A day or two later Nick, Frank, and I went to the Valley of Fire.  We had a blast out there!  Afterwards, we showered up and went to Yama Sushi to partake in All You Can Eat sushi for $22.  We ate till we were miserable!!  But it was SO GOOD!!!

He'll give you the Plague.

My poor 'Rolla needs a bath.

He was absolutely THRILLED by the petrified logs.....

There were a bunch of people around taking pictures...I thought at first it was a wedding, but turns out it was a photo shoot for French Vogue.

I'm a hot dog!

This was pretty much everything we ate....and the bill was only $77!

Frank and I went back to the Strip to do the other end...

On Frank's last night we went to XS and the resident DJ, Steve Aoki, was celebrating his birthday.  All of a sudden you hear "FLAVA FLAV!!!!" And there he stood with Steve Aoki...totally unexpected.
Pouring Grey Goose into people's mouths or pouring out some for his lost homies?

There he is!

I'm gonna miss ol' Frank.

At the Bunkhouse L-R: James, James, Rebecca, Mark, me, Asaf, Morgan.
Morgan squeezing the crap out of my hand...he plays too rough!

This past Wednesday, I spent it as a day of getting pretty.  I started the day off by going to do something I probably wouldn't ever do again.  I'd take a tattoo over this any day.  I won't go into detail, but there was wax involved.  And yes, it's just as bad as you would imagine.  I went and got my nails done, probably my favorite part of the day.  Then I went for a haircut and got highlights.  I'm not happy with my haircut, honestly.  It's not really the stylist's fault as it is me just not liking it.  I wish I would've waited and had Emily, my regular stylist, cut it.  The highlights are nice, but you can't really see them...which is kind of what I wanted.  Something "natural."  That evening Nick, Asaf, and I went to Yama Sushi.  So good!  But I think I'm good on sushi for a while now.  Ate waaaay too much, again.

I'm a lady.
So basically that's all I've been up to.  I'll be back in Arkansas this week...haven't made a real decision on if I'll go back to Las Vegas for New Years (if I end up deciding to drive).  Yes, I have a plane ticket, but I can cancel it.  We'll see.  Until next time.....
