11/08-11/14 Las Vegas

Tuesday, a new guy started, Frank.  So far, he's a pretty good kid.  Pretty much just chilled out at the hostel.  Watched some Louis C.K. with the guys before calling it a night.

Wednesday, we went to LAX because Genuwine was playing.  I left with James because I wanted a ride back, but everybody else stayed.  Leaving was fine because it gave me a chance to come back and clean my bunk...and I was really tired.

Thursday, I slept nearly the whole day!  I was clearly very tired.  I thought about going to get a tattoo, but ended up not.  James, Asaf, and I went to a bar down the street called The Griffin then went over to Insert Coins.  Asaf stayed there while James and I went to El Cortez where I ended up playing a little BlackJack.  It was disappointing because I started playing with $11 and ended up with $30, but decided to keep playing with $15.  James told me I should bet the other $15 because I had a really good hand and I needed to split.  I just needed a certain card or under (or over, can't remember) and I got unlucky.  I would like to play more just for fun, but I don't want to lose any more money at this point.  Then we went over to the Roulette table and he let me have $5 to bet.  I lost.  They were low stakes bets.  I didn't like playing that game...it just seems like such a waste.

Friday, we went to Mandalay Bay to the club on the 64th floor.  Awesome views.  James, Nick, Asaf and I went back down the casino for cheap drinks.  We just sat at the slots for a long time chatting before leaving.  We went to a Mexican place for some food before heading back to the hostel.

Saturday, I woke up early and couldn't go back to sleep.  It was a really nice day, so I took the opportunity to go out to Red Rock Canyon for a little while.

That night I cooked dinner...pork chops, fresh corn, green beens, corn bread, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, some salad like Asaf makes (but his is better), and brownies for dessert.  It was a success.  Frank, James, and Asaf enjoyed it and it made me happy.

I'm hungry now looking at this....

Sunday, Frank and I went to the Air Show at the Nellis Air Force Base.  It was so freaking awesome!!!  It made my heart hurt at times at how close those plans were...just one little mistake and it would've been disaster.  They were so exact with everything they did.  I was so super impressed.  I love watching planes.  I borrowed a few pictures from Frank.  I know he took more, but as of this post, these were all he posted on Facebook.

Stealthy...if planes could be sexy, this would be the definition of a sexy plane.

I took some video, but it isn't very clear and it hardly captures the intensity of the moment.  Personally, I would suggest to someone to check out an air show at some point in their lives.

Currently looking into where I want to go next.  I've made up a list of all the countries that caught my eye, but it'll be an ever changing list with ever changing plans.  Once I get my "research" done, I'll make a post on my next (tentative) move.  But for now, I'm going to continue enjoying the rest of my stay in Las Vegas.  Only have a month left out here before I go home to see some important people...pretty excited to say the least, but kind of sad because that means that my time here is coming to an end.  But let's look at the happy instead  :)
