Bowling Green and Asheville

A couple of weeks ago, I made a trip to Asheville, NC, to see MewithoutYou.  For the first couple of days I made a side trip to Bowling Green, KY, to see my friend Michelle while she was visiting her family.  We pretty much just chilled out at the house and I got to meet the rest of her family and they’re just as cool as she is.  My friend, Hannah, suggested that I read On the Road, so while I was in Bowling Green I picked it up and began to read it.  I think it’s going to be slightly difficult to read, but another friend of mine told me to stick with it…so I will.
You're the only Ten-I-See....hah
I can't help but sing that Petey Paublo song when I think of NC...

I drove to Asheville, NC, and it was a nice little drive.  The show was at the Orange Peel, which is a nice little venue.  It was very organized and that’s uncommon to me.  The first band that played was The Drowning Men.  They were pretty cool, they played one of those instruments where you use your hands but don’t actually touch the instrument.  I don’t know what it’s called.  Maybe I’ll Google it later, or someone can post a comment telling me what it is.  Up next was MewithoutYou.  My heart was soaring…and these two guys in front of me we kind enough to let me squeeze between them so I could be in the very front.  Every so was just as great as the next.  I wish I could’ve felt the way I did when I saw them at Juanita’s last year.  That was the best show I had/have ever attended.

Have I mentioned that I love them?

They signed my book :)

I didn’t stick around for Alkaline Trio.  Instead I went to find the place I had Googled to stay for the night.  It was just a few blocks away, and very nice!  I really wish I could’ve stuck around for another day or two to check the city out, but I had to get back to Arkansas.  I know I will definitely go back some day!

I made the entire drive back to AR in 11.5 hours, which was totally surprising since I made quite a few stops and the drive is 11 hours.  All in all, it was a good, but short trip.
